In this video Internet Marketing guru, Brian G. Johnson, talks about a subject that he seems to know more about than most people: SEO. Brian says the golden Rule of Internet Marketing. quite frankly this is such a universal principle about making money both online and offline. So it is not just Brian’s rule, but a golden principle of marketing.

Find out what people want, or need,  and give it to them. It is as simple as that. You want to make that process simple and easy for your site visitors.

Brian talks about how when he got started he was very into SEO and driving traffic. He was always looking for niches that looked like he could drive a good enough amount of traffic without too much effort. Then he could turn that traffic into cash.

This is the same principle that he still uses today with great results and success. In 2005 he noticed a large amount of traffic from people that were looking for mail order catalogues. It is still a good opportunity, but there is not as much traffic as there was. Still good to get into though.

He saw that people were looking for different types of catalogues, so he crated a site around the keyword “catalogue. ” He sent all the traffic to a lead capture situation like a CPA offer. For each sign up he received between eighty cents and one dollar. People were telling him at the time to concentrate on selling physical products from this traffic, such as jeans.

People weren’t searching for jeans though, they were looking for a catalogue that could be sent to them the=rough the mail. Brian’s conversions were about ten percent. They were between ten and fourteen percent depending on the catalogue and the keyword that was being searched for. He was making thousands of dollars a month from simple websites because he understood what the market wanted.

So do that yourself. Understand what people want online and give it to them. It is really that simple with Internet Marketing. Keep your sites clean and free. Concentrate on what your customers are searching for. Don’t have banners on your site making offers like SEO tools for a catalogue site. This is unnecessary. Just use a text link that says “get your home decor catalogue here..Click this link and you have a chance to get this catalogue for free… “

When you do that you will start making money sooner rather than later.
